This week, Notion Music, Inc. Will ship Notion3 music notation software ($199 Street), which offers a new design, an expanded sample library, new live performance features, and better compatibility with plug-ins, sample libraries and DAWs. The new interface allows you to use notation, guitar tab, or MIDI devices to create music. Its uncluttered screen view provides easy access to frequently used tools, and an an interactive fretboard and chord library is available for those writing for guitar or bass. Furthermore, Notion3 has full ReWire integration that supports both host and slave options, and the software works with VST effects and VSTi libraries with built-in presets.
The SequencerStaff lets you record MIDI input directly onto a standard notation staff while retaining MIDI data such as modulations, bends and dynamics, which can be edited in Notion3 later. Notion3 also features live performance and playback.
